40 questions covering passenger content, drawn from the FMCSA-aligned CDL question pool and the Massachusetts Commercial Driver License Manual.
What this test covers
A separate written exam at the federal 80% pass mark, required to carry 16 or more people including yourself. Most states do not publish a question count for it. Questions cover passenger safety, pre-trip inspection of passenger vehicles, loading and unloading passengers, emergency exit and evacuation procedures, handling of unruly passengers, prohibited practices, post-trip inspection requirements, and rules for driving in various conditions with passengers aboard. You will also need to demonstrate knowledge of ADA accessibility requirements.
