Kentucky Pre-Trip Inspection Practice Test 2
36 questions covering pre-trip inspection content, drawn from the FMCSA-aligned CDL question pool and the Kentucky Commercial Driver's License Manual.
What this test covers
The Pre-Trip Inspection portion of the CDL skills test takes 30 to 60 minutes and is graded on a checklist of approximately 120+ items depending on the vehicle class. You must identify each component, state what you are checking for (cracks, leaks, loose mounts, proper inflation, etc.), and explain why it matters. The examiner can ask you to do a full inspection, a partial inspection, or specifically inspect the in-cab, engine compartment, external air brakes, coupling system, or trailer. You can fail the entire skills test by missing too many items here.
