1. Who we are
DMV IQ is operated by Oddly Sunny (“we,” “us,” or “our”). We provide online and mobile driving test preparation tools for US state DMV written examinations.

2. What data we collect
We collect the following categories of data:
- Account information: Name (optional), email address, and authentication credentials when you create an account via Google sign-in or magic link.
- Purchase information: When you purchase a Pro plan, Stripe processes your payment. We receive a transaction ID, plan type, and purchase date. We do not store your credit card number.
- Usage data: Practice test results, study progress, selected state and vehicle type, streak data, and IQ Readiness Scores — stored locally on your device and optionally synced to your account.
- Analytics data: With your consent, Google Analytics collects page views, session duration, device type, and approximate location (country/region level). This data is anonymized and cannot identify you personally.
- Cookie data: See Section 9 below for our full cookie inventory.
3. Why we collect it
- Contract performance: To provide you with the service you signed up for — practice tests, progress tracking, and Pro features.
- Legitimate interest: To improve our service, fix bugs, and understand how the site is used.
- Consent: Analytics cookies are only set after you give explicit consent via our cookie banner.
4. How long we keep it
- Account data: Until you delete your account or after 24 months of inactivity.
- Purchase records: For the duration of your plan plus 7 years (tax/legal requirements).
- Analytics data: 14 months (Google Analytics default retention period).
- Local data: Stored on your device until you clear it or uninstall the app.
5. Who we share with
We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with these service providers:

6. Your rights
Depending on your location, you may have the following rights:
- Access: Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
- Correction: Ask us to correct inaccurate data.
- Deletion: Ask us to delete your personal data.
- Withdraw consent: Withdraw your analytics consent at any time via Cookie Settings.
- Portability: Request your data in a machine-readable format.
- Complaint: Lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

7. California residents (CCPA)
If you are a California resident, you have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA):
- Right to know: You may request the categories and specific pieces of personal information we have collected about you.
- Right to delete: You may request deletion of your personal information.
- No discrimination: We will not discriminate against you for exercising your CCPA rights.
- We do not sell or share personal information: We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for their own marketing purposes.
Categories of personal information collected in the preceding 12 months: identifiers (name, email), commercial information (purchase records), and internet activity (usage data, analytics).
8. Children's privacy
DMV IQ is intended for users who are old enough to apply for a learner's permit in their state (typically 14-16 years old). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have collected data from a child under 13, please contact us at [email protected] and we will promptly delete it.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make significant changes, we will update the “Last updated” date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, notify you via email or a prominent notice on our site.
